How Do I Know I Have An Iron Disorder

An iron disorder cannot be determined by symptoms alone. A basic iron panel and complete blood count are among the most essential tests needed to confirm Iron-Out-of-Balance™

A basic iron panel (fasting serum iron, total iron-binding capacity [TIBC] and serum ferritin)and a complete blood count (CBC).

We have recently included an additional test called GGT or Gamma Glutamyl Transferase. This test can determine if you antioxidant defense system is functioning properly. It's become an important addition to the basic iron panel because elevated iron levels can cause excessive oxidative stress and significant free radical damage. You can read more about this on our "How Iron Triggers Free Radical Activity" page and by viewing the Ironology™ Iron Panel
