Any text, graphics or images that appear on the site are the sole property of the organization and may not be used without written permission. The content of the site is for informational purposes only and not intended to replace the advice of one's physician. Members of the organization's Scientific Advisory Board have reviewed text, graphics or images that appear on the site that contains medical or scientific information.
Source of Funding and Compensation:
Iron Disorders Institute is funded in part by the sale of its products, corporate sponsorship, public grants, private foundations, membership, contributions and gifts in kind, which are generally in the form of graphic design services, software, equipment, or office supplies.
Ads or Product Promotion:
All advertising or other promotional material that appears on www.irondisorders.org will be clearly marked with the word "Advertisement" regardless of whether the organization is compensated or not.
Our Products:
Some advertisements on our site promote the sale of the organization's publications such as its magazine and books. Other ads such as banner ads are generally from corporate sponsors who have compensated the organization to appear on www.irondisorders.org.
Patient or Visitor Information:
Personal information (identifiers) collected through the organization by mail, fax, telephone, graphic, or email is strictly confidential and is not exchanged for compensation for the purpose of solicitation, survey, direct mail, email or online solicitation.
Non-Discrimination Policy:
Iron Disorders Institute does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, genetic makeup, physical handicap, weight/height or medical condition. It is the policy of IDI to employ, promote or to provide resources in like fashion to persons in employ of or in volunteer service to IDI regardless of the foregoing characteristics, unless one or more of these characteristics is a bona fide occupational qualification for a particular position. IDI is firmly committed to a policy of equal opportunity in all aspects of employee relations, including employment, salary and benefits administration, employee development, promotion, and transfer.
Accounting Practices:
Iron Disorders Institute is a registered 501(c)3 organization. All financial information about the organization is a matter of public record and is upon request. IDI adheres to the good accounting practices in accordance with the IRS which includes the timely filing of its 990 tax return. IDI also conducts independent audits as required and generates an annual report, which is available upon request.
By-Laws:
Iron Disorders Institute is incorporated in the state of South Carolina. It's by-laws and all other required documents are recorded with the Secretary of State of South Carolina.
